The story of the barn

We gave an old place a new purpose

The barn stands on the unusual footprint of an old shed that was used to store hay for over a hundred years. What you see today is the result of more than two years of dreaming, planning and work that we enjoyed immensely.

The ground floor is built of brick, the upper floor is the original timber structure. Wood, craftsmanship and a warm atmosphere — we wanted a place you will love to remember in any season.

Three large tables for games and feasts, a piano, a wood-burning stove. Two separate toilets. Direct access to the terrace.

Fully equipped kitchen with an induction hob, fan oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave and coffee machine. For keen cooks and big breakfasts.

Four bedrooms

Two on the ground floor, one room with its own bathroom and toilet on the mezzanine, and an attic bedroom. Wooden beds, quality mattresses.

Forests, meadows and a foothill valley spread out before you. Morning coffee and evening wine with friends.

A quieter corner of the mountains, close to the busy ones

Zlatá Olešnice lies where the Jizera Mountains meet the Giant Mountains, yet it is much quieter than the big resorts nearby. And it is only a short trip to Tanvaldský Špičák, Paseky nad Jizerou, Šachty, Rejdice and Rokytnice nad Jizerou.
